Dr. Rajesh Harjai is a Consultant Child, Adolescent and Youth Psychiatrist with extensive experience working with individuals across various age groups and mental health concerns. His warm and empathetic approach creates a sense of safety and containment, allowing patients to feel comfortable and supported throughout their treatment journey.
With a holistic and systemic approach, Dr. Harjai tailors his treatment plans to each individual’s unique needs, addressing the physical, emotional, and social factors that impact mental health. His extensive training in both rural and metropolitan hospital settings across Queensland has equipped him with experience in treating a wide range of mental health conditions.
Dr. Harjai is dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment and interventions that empower young people and their families to make informed decisions about their mental health care. He believes in a collaborative and patient-centred approach, working closely with his patients to develop personalised treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals. Dr. Harjai provides evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for his patients and their families, including supportive psychotherapy and family-based work.

Dr. Harjai has a special interest in the assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He has completed formal training in standardised autism diagnostic tools, supporting comprehensive, evidence-based diagnostic evaluations for autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
Dr. Harjai consults via telehealth only and sees patients aged 5 to 20 years.
